QI am looking for low-maintenance tropical plants for a very shaded part of my garden. Please can you help?
Barbara
AMany tropical plants are from forests and live below the tree canopy, so they suit shade well.
I would recommend ferns and hosta as great shade plants. They come in different colours and patterns.
Fan palm trees are also usually shade tolerant, but they may need some sunlight. Ask at your local garden supplier to find out which varieties they have.
You can also grow peace lilies, jasmine and fatsia japonica.
